CBT: Tools, Tips & Techniques

Overview: An introduction to using the CBT model when working to support young people with their mental health. It provides a grounding in CBT theory and a few practical activities that professionals can use in their practice. NB: This is an introductory training on some basic CBT-style techniques, rather than a training that licences people to deliver CBT therapy. Included in the training will be a section about the safe use of techniques and limits of competence.

By the end participants will have:

  • A greater understanding of what CBT is and critically appraised it’s benefits within a variety of situations

  • Increased ability and insight into the how, why and what regarding common issues that can cause and maintain distress, particularly in young people

  • Explored core CBT techniques proven to help challenge negative thought patterns and/or behaviours, thus reducing the distress they might cause

  • Learnt key skills enabling you to deliver these techniques with others in a way that maximises empowerment and engagement

Cost: £95 per individual

NB: For organisations looking to book more than one staff member onto the training select the 2x or 3x General Admission Discount bundle when booking. You can add as many of these into your cart as needed.

For individuals wanting to book onto more than one training, we can offer a 20% discount. Please contact diffusion@otrbristol.org.uk to organise this.

Our trainings can also be booked in bulk for organisations who want to offer a variety of them as CPD for staff. For organisations wanting to book multiple staff on to multiple trainings please contact diffusion@otrbristol.org.uk for more information about how to do this.
